DeWalt:

In 1924, Raymond E. DeWalt founded DeWalt Tools. DeWALT had been involved with jobs as a millworker for most of his life, and had a necessity to develope a new kind of saw which would enable him better manueverability and control. The result was the first ever radial arm saw. His tool was an instant success, and today is seen commonly in woodshops across the world.
In the early 1940's, with the country involved in World War II, DeWALT grew to support the increasing national defense and wartime machinery requirements. Later, in the 1950's, DeWALT acquired a Canadian division, as well as a 40,000 square-foot manufacturing facility to house their now booming business.
Today the DeWALT Power Tools line consists of over 200 electric power tools and over 800 accessories including: drills and hammer drills; screwdrivers; circular, chop, miter, table, reciprocating, and jig saws; planers; impact wrenches; die, angle, and bench grinders; shears; nibblers; sanders; laminate trimmers; routers, and plate joiners. DeWALT even has its own NASCAR racecar in the Winston Cup series, driven by professional driver Matt Kenseth.
